Stencil workshop with the Iowa Youth Writing Project

The Iowa Youth Writing Project is running a free stencil art workshop for teens instructed by University of Iowa Ida Beam Visiting Artist Josh MacPhee, and Public Space One‘s John Engelbrecht.  This workshop will immerse teens in the history, creation, and application of stencils as art form and communication.  In the first session visiting artist Josh MacPhee will present the history of stencils and guide students through the basics of cutting and applying stencil imagery.  In the second session, led by artist John Engelbrecht, students will create stencils based on their own imagery and ideas.  Space is very limited so email coordinator@iywp.org to reserve a space now.
