A busy month for Little Free Libraries

It has been a month since Little Free Library co-founder Todd Bol visited the Iowa City area, and much has happened in that short time.

At that time, we had fewer than 10 Little Free Libraries in the area; that number continues to grow, as an additional handful now has been installed. To help you find them, we have created an interactive map on our web site that lists all of which we are aware. There also is a spot for those with new LFLs to report that information to us so they can be added. Click on the small house icons on the map to learn more about each LFL.

A fund also has been established at the Community Foundation of Johnson County that allows supporters to contribute toward the building and installation of new Little Free Libraries. Those interested in contributing can send checks to the foundation at 325 E. Washington St., Iowa City, IA 52240. Put “Little Free Library” in the memo line.  Donations my also be made online:

The fund is a partnership between the City of Literature and the Altrusa Club. These two organizations will create criteria for distributing the funds. Watch the City of Literature web site for further details.
