City of Literature joins the Iowa Cultural Corridor Alliance

The Iowa City UNESCO City of Literature is the newest member of the Iowa Cultural Corridor Alliance.

The alliance, known as ICCA, has more than 150 cultural organization members in the Eastern Iowa Corridor. ICCA defines the Corridor as Linn and Johnson Counties and the nine adjacent counties. The mission of ICCA is to promote the varied cultural activities of its partner organizations and to nurture a sustainable cultural community. This is done through advocacy-focused events, educational programming, arts and culture awareness, cultural tourism, and building strong relationships throughout the community.

The organization offers event listings on its website, www.culturalcorridor.org, as well as information about member organizations.

“We are proud to join this vibrant organization,” said John Kenyon, interim executive director of the City of Literature. “We plan in the coming year to increase awareness of the City of Literature and draw more people from the region to our events, and this alliance should help to accomplish those goals.”
